Social media are changing adv strategy from broadcasting interruptions to real time deep conversations

"Social Media alters the playing field for everyone within the
enterprise; formerly successful strategies and tactics are being
challenged, while old and tired methodologies are getting new legs and
as we see, Pepsi is using Social Media to give new energy to cause
marketing"

IMHO Italian companies are not aware of the power of social media and internet yet. I'm from Turkey and studying Marketing Management in Italy. I hope to see more Italian companies considering the importance of social media.
For example I was in Turkey a week ago and had a problem with internet at home and I immediately tweeted my ISP (@TTNet) and they called me in just a few hours.
As you mentioned companies "should" take Social Media into consideration because it'll be the future of marketing.
Buona sera! :-)

I agree with you. Many Managers are seeing social like a new channel
where spread messages.
They think about conversations like campaigns, they don't engage with
people. They are planning, when they have simply to hear and
conversate!
